Stir fried cabbage is very simple and straight forward side dish which is absolutely delicious as a vegetarian option or with a traditional roast!
Ingredients
  • 1 large Chinese Cabbage shredded
  • 1 onion finely sliced
  • A glug of Olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic sliced
  • 1 tsp.whole cumin seeds
  • pinch of red chili flakes
  • Salt to taste
Instructions
  1. Trim outer leaves off cabbage;cut cabbage in half lengthwise. Cut out and discard core, and cut crosswise into long, thin shreds with a bread knife. (You can also use a food processor.)
  2. Heat the olive oil in a wide skillet over high heat. When hot, add the cumin, and the garlic
  3. When seeds begin to pop add the onion and stir until soft and lightly golden, add cabbage, chilli flakes and salt to taste,stirring often,about 5 minutes.
Notes
You may need to do this in two batches in order for the cabbage to keep it's lovely green colour.
