Quick and easy it makes a great side dish with Bobotie or Roast Lamb!
Ingredients
- 250ml rice
- 1.5 litre hot vegetable stock
- 1 tsp tumeric
- 15 ml Sunflower Oil
- 1 Onion finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
- 1 medium Green Pepper finely choppped
- 1 medium Red Pepper finely finely chopped
- ½ cup green peas
Instructions
- Bring the stock,tumeric and rice to the boil.
- Boil until soft. About 15 mins.
- Strain the rice.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the onion and garlic until soft and translucent.
- Add the peppers,chillies flakes and stir fry for a few minutes.
- Add the rice and the peas.
- Simmer on medium heat for another 5 mins.
